Waking the Dead

Waking the Dead, though a brand new album, could almost be called a growing collection of riffs, thoughts, and lyrics that existed for almost a decade in the minds of the members of The Clay People. Those ideas spawned 15 haunting new tracks. The group comes together as one and breathes life into a solid collection of timeless songs.

When you crank Waking the Dead in your stereo, you will hear guitarists Brian McGarvey and John Delehanty providing a wild blend of guitar stylings and riffs that at one moment will make the hair on your neck stand on end, but in an instant you will find yourself head banging. This intense and bizarre audio experience is only heightened by effects and industrial rock elements. Of course, none of it would matter if it was not held up by a thick backbone of pounding beats and thumping bass lines, which are delivered flawlessly by drummer Dan Dinsmore and bassist Eric Schwanke. The power in these instrumentals allow vocalist Daniel Neet to show you the strength and versatility of his voice. With lyrics that cover issues of loss, failure, fear, and, of course, the supernatural, Neet takes you with him on a an exciting and terrifying journey. The experience of listening to Waking the Dead can be described as just that... an experience. It's an experience worth having.
